CLAVDVSSEVM

Duels of the Emperors

Raising the arena…

Distant Rival

Share a code with your rival. Whoever enters the same code sits on the opposing throne.

How it is played

1 Β· Your six are hidden

Behind six gates wait six fighters, from a trembling Tiro with a wooden sword to a Taurarius astride a bull. Only you know which gate holds which.

2 Β· Both emperors point at once

Each round you choose a gate in secret. When both have chosen, the gates grind open together. No takebacks.

3 Β· The stronger tends to win

No numbers are ever shown β€” a fighter's worth is in his bulk, his gear, his swagger. Read the silhouette.

4 Β· The novice fells the giant

One law of the sand: a Tiro slips beneath the bull and topples the Taurarius. Bluff accordingly.

5 Β· Fight it yourself

You steer your fighter in the sand. Raise your guard late β€” in the last blink before a blow lands β€” and you parry it outright, opening your rival up for a counter worth more than double. Two good parries can steal a duel you had no business winning.

6 Β· Survivors are remembered

A fighter who lives is now known to your rival forever. Spend your secrets wisely.
